Palos Verdes is known to be one of the most expensive, luxury zip codes in the United States. There are several different microclimates in Palos Verdes as discovered by a study in the 1920s by the founder of Palos Verdes, Frank Vanderlot. You can pretty much trust that the weather on the “hill” is one of the most desired weather climates in the United States. We locals, affectionately refer to the Palos Verdes Peninsula as the “hill”. While there are some areas of the hill that experience seasonal fog due to its proximity to the coast, other areas are known for endless days of sunshine despite their neighbors in Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Manhattan Beach experiencing what Southern Californians refer to as “June Gloom”. It can be cool, overcast, and Ugg boot weather just 1.5 miles away and blazing hot with sunny skies in the opposite direction.
