Rolling Hills Estates sits on the northern side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. With a rural character, Rolling Hills Estates boasts many horse trails and a serene environment. There are 30 neighborhood areas within the community, each with its own special character, architectural style, and Homeowners’ Association. The City takes an active role in maintaining the high quality of life that makes this community such an attractive place to live. Rolling Hills Estates provides residents and visitors with a number of opportunities for recreational and sporting activities.
The City owns and maintains six parks, 25 miles of equestrian trails, and 10 miles of bicycle paths. Additionally, the City has its own tennis club and stables. City parks play an important role in our community by providing recreational opportunities for local residents. City highlights include: The South Coast Botanic Garden delivers education, programs, and events offering layered experiences of surprise, adventure, beauty, and serenity through color, texture, sound, and light.
The George F Canyon Nature Center and Stein/ Hale Nature Trail located in Rolling Hills Estates’ 36-acre Preserve. A nature trail passes through one of the most pristine and beautiful canyons on the peninsula, and the trail is one mile long with interpretive signs, guideposts, benches, viewing decks and a drinking fountain.
