Football season is officially back, and sometimes watching from the couch just doesn’t cut it.
Whether you’re looking for wall-to-wall TVs, a packed game-day crowd, wings and cold beer, or somewhere a little more laid-back to catch your team, the South Bay has plenty of options.
From Manhattan Beach and Hermosa to Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes and San Pedro, here are some of our favorite local spots to spend football season.
1501 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach
A longtime Manhattan Beach neighborhood spot, Grunions is exactly what you want from a classic sports bar: casual, unfussy and centered around the game. With plenty of screens, a full bar and classic pub food, it’s a solid choice when actually watching the game is the priority.
Best for: A classic neighborhood sports-bar experience.
3610 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach
A North Manhattan Beach staple since 1985, OB’s combines a local beach-pub atmosphere with plenty of TVs and an all-day menu. It’s an especially good choice if you want the energy of football Sunday without heading into the busier downtown Manhattan Beach scene.
Best for: North Manhattan Beach locals and a casual Sunday game.
3600 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach
If you want game day to feel like an event, Sharkeez brings the energy. Expect plenty of TVs, tacos, shareable food, drinks and a crowd that can get lively for big matchups. Sharkeez also actively promotes football programming and game-day specials during the season.
Best for: Groups and a high-energy game day.
50A Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach
For a true big-game setup, this one is hard to overlook. Patrick Molloy’s currently promotes more than 25 TVs plus a massive 220-inch projection screen for NFL Sundays, college football and other major sporting events. Add its location just steps from the beach and you have one of Hermosa’s biggest game-day atmospheres.
Best for: Big games and a lively crowd.
1332 Hermosa Ave., Hermosa Beach
A longtime Hermosa sports-watching favorite with more of an English-pub feel, Underground is known for drawing serious sports fans. Beyond football, it has become especially popular for major soccer matches, but NFL games and other big sporting events are part of the mix too.
Best for: Sports fans who care as much about the game as the bar scene.
2626 Hermosa Ave., Hermosa Beach
Away from the busiest part of Pier Avenue, North End has more of a neighborhood feel while still delivering plenty of game-day energy. Multiple TVs, a casual menu, patio seating and its location near the Strand make it an easy Sunday option.
Best for: A laid-back local atmosphere.
6300 S. Pacific Coast Hwy., Redondo Beach
One of the easiest picks for groups and families. Rock & Brews promotes more than 20 TVs plus a giant 12-foot LED screen and specifically highlights Rams, Chargers, USC and UCLA football throughout the season. There’s also a large menu, plenty of shareables and an outdoor patio.
Best for: Families, larger groups and LA football fans.
120 N. International Boardwalk, Redondo Beach
Football by the water? The Slip gives you a casual harbor setting with the feel of a neighborhood sports bar. It regularly hosts sports viewing and fan watch parties, making it a fun alternative to the traditional indoor sports-bar setup.
Best for: A waterfront game day with a local feel.
1710 S. Catalina Ave., Redondo Beach
Right in Riviera Village, Rebel Republic offers a slightly more social take on football Sunday. Big TVs and game-day energy are paired with craft cocktails, beer, pub-forward food and indoor/outdoor seating.
Best for: Watching the game without sacrificing the Sunday social scene.
22735 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance
A dependable neighborhood choice with lots of TVs, craft beer, cocktails and an upgraded pub-food menu. Torrance Tavern regularly draws crowds for major sporting events and is a great middle ground between a traditional sports bar and a casual restaurant.
Best for: Good food + football.

The Brews Hall is especially convenient when everyone in your group wants something different. The large brewery and food-hall concept has wall-to-wall screens and promotes itself as a football-watching destination during the NFL season.
Best for: Groups and multiple games happening at once.
31234 Palos Verdes Dr. W., Rancho Palos Verdes
For Peninsula locals who don’t want to drive down to the beach cities, Peninsula Tap House is an easy neighborhood option. Located in Golden Cove, it offers craft beer, burgers and a relaxed pub atmosphere where sports are regularly part of the programming.
One thing to note: its regular Sunday hours currently begin at noon, so check directly with the restaurant if you’re hoping to catch an early NFL kickoff.
Best for: A casual PV neighborhood game day.
331 W. 6th St., San Pedro
One of downtown San Pedro’s longstanding gathering places, San Pedro Brewing Company combines house-brewed beer, a full food menu and plenty of TVs. The brewery is actively promoting NFL games this season, making it an easy choice for Pedro locals.
Best for: Craft beer and a classic San Pedro atmosphere.
589 W. 9th St., San Pedro
Steelers fans, this is your spot. Iron City has a longstanding reputation as a Pittsburgh-friendly football bar, with a casual neighborhood atmosphere, multiple screens and a crowd that takes Steelers Sundays seriously.
Best for: Pittsburgh Steelers fans and anyone who loves a true local sports bar.
