Designing a space can be overwhelming.
What's your vibe? What color scheme do you gravitate towards? What is the functionality of the space? What are your non negotiables? How do I bring my vision to life?!
We believe that great design is about creating a space that feels both functional and effortlessly beautiful. Whether you’re tackling a full renovation or making small updates, here are some of my favorite tips to creating a space you will love.
1. Choose a Cohesive Color Palette
A well-thought-out color scheme can instantly elevate your space. Stick to a harmonious mix of neutral tones—think warm whites, soft beiges, and rich browns—and layer textures like linen, wood, and metal for added depth.
2. Swap Outdated Hardware
One of the simplest yet most effective updates is replacing old hardware. Opt for sleek brass, matte black, or brushed nickel finishes for a modern, polished look. These small details can make a huge impact!
3. Add Sculptural & Statement Pieces
Incorporate unique floor lamps, bold lighting fixtures, or sculptural furniture to create an artistic focal point. These elements add personality and make your space feel curated rather than cookie-cutter.
4. Thrift for One-of-a-Kind Decor
Sustainability meets style when you shop secondhand. Vintage books, mid-century furniture, and eclectic accessories bring warmth and character to any room while keeping your design unique.
5. Create a Spa-Like Bathroom Retreat
Transform your bathroom into a sanctuary by decluttering, choosing warm, natural tones, and incorporating soft textures like plush towels and wooden accents. A minimalist approach enhances relaxation.
6. Plan & Budget Before You DIY
DIY projects can quickly become overwhelming. Break them down into manageable steps, set a realistic budget, and anticipate unexpected expenses to stay on track without the stress.
By focusing on these intentional design choices, you can create a home that’s both stylish and functional—one that truly reflects your personality and lifestyle.
